National ID Card Renewal

To apply for a new National ID card, renew an existing one, or request a replacement, please use the Department of National Registration (DNR)'s online portal. Below are the steps to guide you through the process:

1. Create an Account:

• If you do not already have an account, register on the portal.
• Note: Registration verification requires a Maldivian mobile number to receive the OTP (One-Time Password). Alternatively, a family member can add you to their account as a dependent and complete the application process on your behalf.

2. Submit Your Application:

Follow the portal's instructions to apply for a new ID card, renew an existing one, or request a replacement.

3. Delivery Option via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

• If you wish to have your ID card sent via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, email cardsection@dnr.gov.mv with the request, with the Embassy in copy WashingtonInfo@foreign.gov.mv
• The ID card can then be dispatched directly to you through the Embassy nearest to your location.
