The Embassy of Maldives in Washington D.C participated in the “Passport DC” Exhibition in Washington, D.C.

The Embassy of the Republic of Maldives in Washington, D.C. joined several resident Embassies to participate in the annual Passport D.C. event, to showcase the identity, rich culture and traditions of the Maldives through an engaging experience.

Thousands of visitors stopped by the Maldives stall during the day-long event to explore the destination and learn insightful information about the Maldives and experience a taste of Maldivian food items.   Interactive activities at the stall allowed visitors to engage with cultural elements and take-home Maldives postcards with their names inscribed in Dhivehi.

While Maldives canned tuna was introduced as its own product, vibrant photograph and video displays at the stall enhanced destination awareness and brand visibility among the visitors.

The Maldives canned tuna showcased at the stall, complemented by vibrant photographic and video displays, enhanced the visibility of the Maldives brand and promoted as appealing destination.

Passport DC is a prominent annual event where foreign missions in Washington, D.C. showcase their traditions and cultures to the public. This is the 19th year Passport DC is being held, and the Embassy of Maldives is taking part in this significant event for the very first time.

As the Maldives marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of official diplomatic relations with the US this year, participation at this prestigious event provided a great opportunity to celebrate and enhance people-to people interaction between the two countries.
