The Organization of Islamic Cooperation, comprising of 57 Member States, is an international organization formed to safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world. The Maldives became a member of the OIC on 26 July 1976 and has since participated in all regular Summits, Extraordinary summits and the Foreign Ministers Meetings.

H.E Ambassador Ahmed Sareer is currently serving as the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Maldives to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Ambassador Sareer presented his Letter of Credence to H.E Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary General of the OIC, on 29th April 2025.
