Aminath Shifana is a distinguished senior executive with over two decades of high-level leadership experience within the Government of Maldives, specializing in public administration, human resource strategy, and foreign service modernization. Aminath Shifana brings an exceptional track record of institutional governance to her diplomatic mission, having served at the highest echelons of public service in the Maldives. Prior to her deployment, she held pivotal executive roles within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serving as both Permanent Secretary and Additional Secretary. In these capacities, she expertly managed institutional operations, shaped foreign service regulations, and advised on the execution of national mandates.

Her extensive leadership portfolio also includes serving as the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services, where she successfully spearheaded high-priority national development targets. Additionally, she holds a historic milestone as the first female member of the Executive Committee at the Auditor General’s Office, where she managed comprehensive corporate services, including finance, administration, and ICT.
